I titled this blog entry “Groom’s speech” because I reckon James’s speech is one of the most entertaining and natural speech I heard during my career shooting weddings. I worked around James’ speech when I edited their fusion slideshow video trailer. Check it out below.
Their wedding was back in August 2010. This is my first ever attempt to create a SDE (same day edit) fusion slideshow. I have done so many still or motion pictures SDE in the past. But it’s completely a different game when editing for fusion because I need to think two different way for telling the story. I reckon it’s not bad for the first time especially working under really tight deadline.
Last December, I shot their friend’s wedding (Felix + Dianne, whom I also can’t wait to blog theirs) which James + Arlene were the groomsmen. Similarly to theirs, I presented a SDE motion pictures at the reception for Felix + Dianne. After the presentation, James came to me, referring to Felix + Dianne’s SDE as my best work so far (he reckoned it’s better than his). It’s my extra motivation to try to create something better for James and Arlene. FYI, I am not sure that you realised being nice and respectful to your photographer/videographer makes them want to try much harder. It is at least most of the cases for me
.
Since the SDE fusion has already shown most of what happened in the morning, this fusion trailer highlights what happened at the reception especially the lots of dancing and of course James’ speech.
I hope by watching this fusion, James now considers that their wedding film is the best in their eyes. Finger crossed
Here are some of my favourites images from their wedding
