It’s been a long soul-searching process to understand what we really want to pursue for Foto Expression. As the company keeps growing, we must understand every step we do is something that we know for sure we can handle clients’ expectations. Thus, this is our statement to make it huge! We dream big for Foto Expression, the BIG films and of course our baby in Foto Xpress.

This new website could be the longest overdue to-do list we’ve ever done. We love updating our portfolio at least once a year. But it has been almost two years since the last time we updated our website. And this could be the first official website of Foto Expression Indonesia. So it’s a super-exciting time for us.

There you go, www.fotoexpression.com is our first step towards our dream! This site is a combined website between our Australian branch and the new Indonesian branch.

We have also launched our online pricing calculator as the new feature in the website. This feature will enable couples to quickly search for packages that are most relevant to them, where couples can also mix and match with varieties of our packages and pricing.

In the pricing section, we also introduced Catch of the week. We know everybody loves discounts! So this is our way to offer attractive packages to couples, but at the same time, couples still enjoy the best quality of our products and services.

Hello world and welcome to my first blog in 2012! I know it is a little bit too late, but let me quickly say Happy New Year to all of you, I wish you all a very fabulous and joyful year ahead.

This time, I’d like to share with you my favorite shots during 2011. Some of them are taken from 2010 that still in my favorite list. It is quite a pain for me to pick these pictures among thousands of photo I have shot. Not because I have shot ‘crap; photos, but it is because I have lots of awesome photos.. *lol* J. Truly, it is such a proud moment to look back the whole year to reflect of what I have achieved.

Howdy and welcome to my second blog on the new home of Foto Expression blog. This time I would like to share my first wedding anniversary in Bali recently. If you have read my previous blog, I mentioned that this year I had a great opportunity to shoot my first destination wedding outside my comfort zone, it is in Bali! The other thing that excites me was the wedding day happened one day before our first anniversary. What a coincidence!

Bali, for some reason has special place in our heart. I tried to ‘google’ around and found this statement that best illustrates the magical of Bali.  Here it is: Bali, known as Island of God, with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, lush rice terraces and barren volcanic hillsides all providing a picturesque backdrop to its colourful, deeply spiritual and unique culture, stakes a serious claim to be paradise on earth (quoted from Wikitravel). For those that have ever experienced the hospitality of Balinese, you may agree with above.  If you have not, lets check out some of my photos to truly show the magical of this little paradise.

Back to the topic, when I knew that my client finally decided to book us as their photographer (YAY!!), the first thing on my mind (apart from the wedding itself) was WHERE to celebrate our anniversary?? There are lots and lots of nice and fancy restaurants in Bali, from no star until Michelin rated. However, since this is our first year celebration, I want this to be rather special. So I searched and asked around and finally decided to celebrate at Tirtha.

Tirtha, this venue called, is located on the top of Uluwatu cliff, with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. We held our wedding in Tirtha Luhur one year ago, on the 13^th November 2010. With the help from Andi (our wedding assistant from Tirtha Bridal) and thanks that no one actually got married in this place on that day, we were allowed to celebrate our first anniversary day here.

As soon as we stepped into the villa, we feel a magical tingle going through our body. Not to mention the luscious scent of the area go through every bit of our breath! The surroundings of the area are absolutely beautiful, and they just bring old good memories happened in this place a year ago. We were seated in the gazebo facing the Indian Ocean, next to the chapel. The decoration, the foods and the ambient were romantic. The night was so perfect (thanks God for not giving us rain on that night!) that we couldn’t ask for more. We enjoyed every minute as the time passed by. To sum up (otherwise I won’t stop!), we had a fabulous time; a memorable anniversary night in this place. We will definitely come back again!

Howdy World!

It has been a while since my last writing a while back ago and this means I got so many things pending to write up! Recent trip to Europe, my own routine PLUS laziness are causing the delay (such an excuse Ken!). But I promise to catch up the best I can!!

All right, in the middle of this very silent night (during flight back to Sydney from Indonesia), while my memory is still fresh, I’d like to blog my latest and newest wedding assignment in Bali. I still remember a while back ago when I receive inquiry from Edwin (or known as “Coco”) to shoot his wedding on the 12th November 2011.

I was so excited and could not stop smiling for two reasons: ONE, someone has appreciated my work and wants to fly me all the way to Bali. TWO, Bali is a beautiful island with full of memory for both me and my wife Celine. We married a year back ago on the 13th Nov. In other words, once I have finished with Edwin’s wedding, we can celebrate our first wedding anniversary. What a coincidence!

The day has finally came, and I had opportunity to meet Edwin and Elissa two days before their wedding. Edwin, as most of his friends say, is a warm gentle guy who knows everything. He is like a Wikipedia to me. He has something in common with me, both of us love to EAT! Needless to say, Elissa is a beautiful soul, outgoing type of girl with a very pretty smile. She has lovely voice too (Note for Elissa: I’m truly mean it – the song that you sang on that night really impressed me! No no I didn’t mean anything though

I’m blessed to shoot their intimate wedding, set in the charming Majoly Restaurant in Bali. The day was packed with so much laughter and fun, very big thanks to their friends, bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Under the heat of Bali I finally survived my first destination wedding. I really enjoyed the day (thanks to Krating Daeng – Indonesian version of energy drink and lots of Pocari Sweat). I am truly satisfied with I have done and look forward for the next Bali wedding!

It’s my perfect location for destination weddings. We had our honeymoon there and we hope that we will retire in Bali

So I won’t talk any further about the couple. They know how much I love them.. muachhh..

As soon as we arrived in Bali, we went straight to Ubud to have our bebek (duck) for lunch and enjoy the rice terrace. Seriously, it was stinkin hot
Then, we travelled to hmmm.. to be honest, I had no clue of where it was It was such a short session for my liking, but well we had fun anyway drinking coconut during super-hot condition.
