When we announced our interest to join the race in Indonesian wedding photography industry a while back, we honestly were over-excited. I studied the industry by looking at what’s on the market only. I honestly was naive. Indonesian wedding photography industry was like a jungle, it’s a completely different industry than what we have experienced in Australia. In Australia, people here appreciate the natural chemistry of the couple. We survived until now purely by our good product and service. People never hesitate to recommend our die-hard service and awesome photography.
But in Indonesia, it’s not about the photo only if you want to be successful there. It’s about how we present to the public. The better in visual will have a better chance of selling. The more sensational the company, it will have a better chance of getting accepted by the public. In short, being photographers who aim for timeless and natural can easily be regarded as boring photography.
Are we there to change our belief?
There is the quote saying “Whatever priceless in the future, it should be expensive now”. We believe natural shots and true moments are still our choice in producing timeless photo. We are determined to show to Indonesian couples that we are not just photographers who earn the living from shooting weddings but we also care so much in creating others’ priceless memory. It’s never about business only for us.
